Which college is for you?

If you are a college resident, your parents have spent your lifetime supporting the California colleges. It's now your turn to get your money's worth. The California plan calls for three levels of institutions. The UCs are research institutions, meant to prepare students for graduate degrees. The CSUs are also four-year colleges and universities, but, with rare exceptions, do not offer doctoral degrees. And there are two-year, or community, colleges. These colleges have three basic purposes: vocational degrees, preparation for a four-year college, and enrichment. There are no bad choices! All of these offer fine teaching and vast opportunities.
